Hello Reakly, et Salut Oziligath !!! Thanks you for this exchange, Reakly ;) !! This game is very interesting, specially on WM Side. I gonna call this game : "When the "BEST" is worse than "GOOD" !!" A very French metaphor :) ... So look for tactics and strategies !! ... First, Oziligath, WM Side, choose a short T0-T1 (Pioneer + 2 Grenadiers + MG42). His plan is clear => add 2 PzGrenadiers as fast as possible. Oziligath wants a "powered frontline" against US, combined with a PaK40 (T3 choice). This is different about the actual "WM meta game" (2 Pioneer + 4 Grenadiers + T1 vet + T2 + Jager PzSchreck). To keep it simple, the power of Oziligath's option, against US infantry, is better than the "meta". But ... in fact, that gonna be a really bad choice, "When the BEST is worse than "GOOD" !!" => In 1v1 game, WM is alone on the map. So you must play on a long and large frontline, particulary on "Twin Beaches". When the "middle game" come, Allied's vehicle options also comes. A "Top player", like Reakly, knows exactly "how" play his vehicle (cover on rear back or external flank assault). And, this is exactly the reason why Oziligath's taken option go to fail. 3 Pioneers takes faster the capture points, moving the fight "farther" on the natural frontline. Theses Pioneers brings more resources, and they facilitates protection of Grenadiers for a reduced cost. In the same time, 4 Grenadiers + Jager (PzSchreck) brings a really really better "aera cover" against Vehicle. Theses both "strategic" things allow a "huge" better "middle game" for the WM Side. So Oziligath choice => Bad for 1v1, Good for 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 !!! ... ... Second, Oziligath choose WM Tank Doctrine. I know what he have in his mind : Test the call StuG "D" / Stobtruppen. But, because of the "middle game" issue, worried, Oziligath replace that by T3 upgrade + StuG "G"... probably because his combined army "do not work well" against the Greyhound actions. Aïe aïe aïe. This is the moment of the game. With this choice, Oziligath miss the "good timing" to surprise and use a "huge" varied DPS option and delay the second "call" (+60 Fuel) while this StuG "G" is not really more "mobile" than PaK40, and absolutly worse than Jager PzSchreck on aera AT control. Worse, the late "call" comes while the "map control" has not been retaken. So, extra fuel in his pocket, Reakly call Easy 8 in the same time than StuG "D" / Stobtruppen. Well, StuG "D" and Stobtruppen effects gonna be severely reduced => The "Timing", in strategies, this is very important. It is like a "date". If you are late, the date is no longer there..... ... Late game on the clock. Oziligath never had the right cards in his hand, and in the good timing. Reakly use this issue to keep resources and make "huge" damages. "Tic Tac Tic Tac ..." the time flies and plays against Oziligath. More and More Sherman "Easy 8" comes while Oziligath have not enough Manpower to call the Panther as faster as needed (too many soldier's reinforcement to compensate damage) and 1 PaK40 + 2 Grenadiers are not enough efficient to counter. In emergency, Oziligath build another PaK40. But this unit suffers from a such deficiency in the "AT control area". Here too, it is not enough... So "GG WP" for Reakly, always all undercontrol in this game. On the other side, Oziligath tries and searchs always the "WM right way" for 1v1 game. You are not far what you think !! Just remember guys : => solving problems with objectivity. And "timing" is an integral part of the strategy <=. Thanks you guys for this "top CoH game" ;) !!
