Hello Guys !!! Thanks you thanks you to desertBeliever for this exchange and GFM. Erwin Rommel for this game. Well, i want to talk about this game. This game is not really undercontrol on both side, you know. On several time, the victory could be success on different side. So, look for tactics and strategies !! Early game time ... Both side's plan are the good way ??? I don't think so !! Brit Side, GFM. Erwin Rommel, as good as the historical Fox Desert General ... There are still some works. Rommel's plan is simple : He wants to mask his global failure abilities and takes advantages of WM strategic impasse in the opening middle game. A double capture unit to success high Fuel income, passive moves to safe is Manpower, Healthcare delayed for a pretty Humber's timing effect. Probably 80-90% of CoH3 1v1 players use the tips. But, the second Royal Engineer can kill the Brit game during the early game, because he cannot keep the frontline and protect the poor number unit against Grenadiers actions. So Rommel have a good ELO, but, against the better WM way, he can loose a game in 5min only, unfortunatly before his plan... This is subtil, you know !! And I gonna switch on WM Side, to explain that. DesertBeliever begins with a second capture unit too (Pioneer first). But, it is difficult to justify this plan. Akkerman shows that recently (Grenadier first). +2 Pioneers make sense, because you success high capture, and a good chance to success the poor side against a Royal Engineer or US Scout, when the other side temporize the built combined army (Grenadier + Pioneer). So the better WM plan is Grenadier first, or 2 Pioneers first, but never 1 Pioneer first !! Here, WM game begins badly. A better plan was the following issue. Use Pioneer like capture unit. Grenadier First takes a long capture (ammos generally), when the second Grenadier takes a fast capture, to regroup as faster as possible the both Grenadiers. No Pioneer first, you gain 30s to engage the fight, and take advantages of potentiel allied player's failure immediatly. WM Plan is simple, in fact. Build and use your army to search and destroy. Or your opponent make a second capture unit (So easy to break him, make damage, break Fuel income, Manpower income, deeper actions). Or you opponent splitted his army (Again, heavy damages, excess number easy fight). Or your opponent make exactly like you (But, he cannot success Fuel, and delay for enough long time WM middle game impasse, with Light Tank). We need to be honest. WM Side have Grenadier, MG42, Mortar, Sniper on T1. And Grenadiers can deal some soldier and heal with Vet1, to keep the frontline early fight as stronger as possible. All the keys are available immediatly. For this reason, WM Side need to be aggressive on the early game. and confront the allied player in the face of his mistakes. Depending of allied reactions, WM Side need between 5 and 6 T1 unit immediatly. But, how is it possible ? Because the allied side cannot loose soldiers and increase his number of unit and his technology in same time... I come back on this replay. Here, DesertBeliever have not enough material early because of Pioneer first, and Mortar too early. So WM player cannot break the Brit plan, take the control of the game. DesertBeliever loose the early game, and following issues go to be bad.
Well, Middle Game, now !!! WM Side have not take his opportunities on the early game. A Humber comes, while a PzGrenadier already chase a flank in emergency. Brit Side, Rommel have many weaknesses ... But not on this timing !!! He knows the searched strategic impasse what he wants. Methodically, he breaks the nude desertBeliever Frontline. Of course, Brit Healthcare is not here, but he does not need it ... All WM unit back up, free capture, no fight required !! Rommel moves deeper with Humber, freely !! Brit Side map control to begin the middle game, a winning issue, normally !! But, like I said, Rommel masked their failures. Not really good on the fights, and on the positionning of his combined army, a reversed issue comes. After the rout, WM T3 on, desertBeliever build a PaK40. And in this situation, Humber must stay 20m behind the frontline to work safe. Rommel, too confident, let the Humber work alone and does not know reverse gear ... His main piece of his plan falls down, aOuch !! In the same time, desertBeliever retake confidence, and increases his number of frontline unit. Rommel is really poor on battle fight, both Royal engineer fall down. And Rommel is also really poor on CoH3 strategy. Humber and 2 Royal Engineers has been rebuilt and forgot Free available AT Grenade on commandos ... oOh Boy !! Rommel's nightmare comes !! 10min on the field (WM timing middle game vehicule options), Brit Side needed +2 UKF Riflemen to increase the good number of fronline unit + 1 ATGun 6Pounder + upgrade grenades (AT Grenades and almyghty Rifle grenades) !! So desertBeliever takes the map control, the game control, and the 8 Rad can works easely. Rommel, completly lost, use Stuart Technology, and delays, definitely, his T4 late game tanks timing. Rommel looses and finish the middle game ... in the trouble ... after a winning issue !!! Here we go, Late Game on the field !! WM Side have taken advantages, well helped by Brit Side failures. T4 can traps the WM Side ... But Rommel maked so many mistakes ... And i don't know if desertBeliever wants that, or because of poor fuel (bad 10min first). But he builds 2 Stobtruppen and increases to 6 numbers of frontline unit. Rommel stays stuck with only 3 and suffers because of that. Panther comes for Brit Stuart and Brit Tanks, and Brummbar to finish opponent Manpower and the game. But Relic Devs gave so much loves on allied side ... 1 AT Bombers planes, a deeper suicide moves with Crusader and all WM Tanks falls down freely, while desertBeliever, probably tired and unconcentrate, reacts too late. The game is equal now. But Rommel is completely lost and disorganized since 20min. Worse, Rommel tries to stem WM frontline with MG, while his frontline is too poor, in number, to allows the works of support unit. Too bad !! GFM. Erwin Rommel give up ... GG WP Time ! So, to resume, i found this game ... interesting ! For the moment, desertBeliever is a better player than GFM. Erwin Rommel. But, a WM wrong strategic way, on the early game, do not show that. And, Rommel forecasted strategic plan, for the middle game, masked all his weaknesses and created a WM strategic impasse. If Rommel had a good capacity on the positioning of his combined army, the Humber would be stayed alive, and a better frontline number unit or a faster T4 Crusader could finish the game. So Rommel could win this game. It’s the paradox of CoH3. The Unbalance of CoH3 armies can mask your weaknesses !! But, of course, if your weaknesses have too high, there will be no miracles !!
