Hello Guys, and thanks you to OttovonRizzmarck for this "cool game". OttovonRizzmarck come back on CoH3 since 5 month. But, clearly, he is not a "dude" on this game (~ ELO 1300)... This game is a very cool to play (infantry gameplay). And this "game" is very insteresting on several "tacticals keys points" : the importance of creating a front line, the power required (number of standard or upgraded infantry units), the choice of unit type. On my side (WM), i prefer create immediatly, and as faster as possible a strong frontline (Grenadiers), minimize my capture's unit (Pioneer, KettenKrad)... and create a "frontline" on the "middle" of the map. The goal is clear => WM Frontline with "Grenadiers" is underpowered vs Allied. I must maintain the US Player army on his half part and create "damage" if i want prevent a too fast vehicle and a huge flank capture points (travellers Allied). I could have caught the US Scout earlier... => But "First Mission accomplished" : my opponent "fight with me on the center on the early game, his "Fuel Income" has been delayed, and i have enough to reach "AT options timing"... ...But the "game" go to take another way on the "middle game". OttovonRizzmarck, worried about the frontline's battle and without a "fast Greyhound timing", decide to use "support unit" (MG x2 + Mortar) ... It is the main "tactical" key point of this game !! "Support units" can work ... only if your "frontline" is enough stronger. On this game, US side have not that. I see that ... and I choose immediatly the "Lufftwaffe Doctrine" to make a huge and fast Frontline => There are too many => Fixed, Turn around ... a basic military tactic of infantry's fight IRL. US MG and US Mortar do not work, "map control" and resources fall in my pocket, heavy damage come, my "late game timing" become better than my opponent very quickly => PaK40 not needed. On the emergency, OttovonRizzmarck understand he needed vehicle to solve the issues... But it is "too late" => Too many damage, not enough good "map control" and resources => He cannot reach ATGun 57mm, or Sherman, not enough Manpower, not enough Fuel. With only a Greyhound, while a Panzer IV come, That is not "feel good". More, my winning center fight let me "time" to put some traps (mines). Greyhound fall down easely vs Panzer IV, while Riflemen are too far, and the "multitask" fights finish the "criticals" damages... "Who need support units ?" is the title ==> Remember in your mind : "Support Units" works, only if your frontline can keep the main fight !! <==
